Evaluate 2.1.2 – Rubrics and Competencies Quest


Competency based learning lends itself to a wide variety of assessments. Providing students with flexibility and choices in assignments will only increase their interest in learning and provide them the opportunity to have ownership in their learning.  Teachers must review assessments, regardless of type (projects, presentations, essays, tests, etc.), to make sure they align directly with the entire standard and show proof of mastery of the standard.  

Standard Addressed:




Each of these categories contains not only specific information about each person listed in the standard, but also a related assignment that is mentioned in other parts of the standard.  The standard is used as part of the rubric to determine competency.  Students understand that they are to address events/ topics in standard related to the person they are researching.
