Evaluate 3.1.1 – Differentiation Quest
Throughout the course, I used various assessments that collected various data. Peardeck sessions, Smart Response notebook sessions, Google Forms, etc. were all used. Student responses are collected in Google sheets and then graded using Flubaroo.

Collecting data from students throughout the year allows me to tailor instruction for students. I use this data in two different ways. First, the data is used to determine students that need review or remediation because they did not master the standard at the end of the instruction time frame. Students are then placed into small groups or given one on one instruction to correct any misconceptions to attain mastery of the standard.
Second, this data is very useful in review for the state standardized test taken in the spring. Student performances throughout the year can be reviewed very quickly and electronic assessments/ quizzes can also be used as review tools. Student responses given during review session will give me a quick look into the standards that each student needs to review individually. Even though they might have mastered it earlier in the year, retention could be an issue. This data allows for small group instruction/ review and differentiated instruction.
Finding areas of weakness when reviewing the year's standards, allows me the opportunity to provide specific assignments to students through Google classroom. Students are only given assignments that they need review in based on assessment collected during review.
Not only is this data helpful in providing differentiated instruction/review. It is also a great tool I can use to guide the effectiveness of my instruction. If several students perform poorly on a certain topic/ question, that helps me find areas of weakness in my instruction.
