Communicate 4.3.1 The Synchronous Session Quest

Using synchronous sessions can be an amazing asset to the online learning environment.  One of the most valuable assets of synchronous sessions is that a plethora of information can be conveyed in a short period of time.  Being able to communicate in this way helps contribute to a healthy online learning environment.  Even if students can not attend the live session, if it is recorded, students can access it later and benefit from the points of view and information shared.  

At times, synchronous sessions can be awkward because attaining and retaining student attention can be difficult.  Having a neat way to capture the students' attention will make the session more beneficial for students.  At times, there will be issues with establishing and keeping connections.  Students need to know that the session will continue and they can rejoin when able.
